Advantages of Spring-Energized SealsAdvantages of Spring-Energized Seals

Spring-energized seals are made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or other high-performance materials with a special built-in spring. Through the combined action of appropriate spring force and system fluid pressure, the sealing lip (surface) is pushed out and gently attached to the sealed metal surface, thereby achieving excellent sealing effect. The actuation effect of the spring can overcome slight eccentricity of the metal mating surface and wear of the sealing lip, continuously maintaining the expected sealing performance. This product can be widely used in various media such as oil, water, steam, air, solvents, pharmaceuticals, food, acids, alkalis and chemical solutions. Compared with traditional seals, it has the following significant advantages:
-
The sealing performance is not affected by insufficient lubrication during startup, which can effectively reduce wear and frictional resistance and ensure stable startup of equipment.
-
Through the reasonable matching of different sealing materials and springs, the sealing force can be flexibly adjusted to adapt to various application needs; it adopts mold-free CNC machining process with high dimensional accuracy, especially suitable for mass production and diverse specifications of seals.
-
Its chemical corrosion resistance and heat resistance are far superior to those of commonly used rubber seals, with strong dimensional stability. There is no degradation of sealing performance caused by volume expansion or contraction, and the service life is longer.
-
With a compact and exquisite structure, it can be directly installed in standard O-ring grooves without additional modification of the installation structure, featuring strong adaptability.
-
The sealing material is PTFE or other high-performance materials, which are clean and pollution-free with extremely low friction coefficient. Even in ultra-low speed application scenarios, the operation is very smooth without stick-slip phenomenon.
-
The starting frictional resistance is small. Even if the equipment is shut down for a long time or operates intermittently, it can maintain excellent low starting force performance to ensure smooth start and stop of the equipment.
